What’s the state of your local K-12 leaders and partners? And how does technology fit into that? Join the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) to learn how they are streamlining systems and processes to build a positive workplace and culture to better the outcomes of their students in the next normal.
SDCOE is going through a transformational process to remove systems and streamline processes. County leaders discovered they lacked a comprehensive platform to systematically and strategically capture and use pertinent information. Data was being logged into multiple systems and was not being leveraged in a way that showed progress toward organizational goals.
The thorough evaluation of user stories and research helped SDCOE implement a solution that can scale to meet growing needs--Salesforce.org Education Cloud for K-12. Utilizing an agile framework, the Innovation Division worked closely to establish needs, improve business processes, translate those needs to the Salesforce platform, and ensure the new system was set up to serve as the single source of truth for all events, courses, contacts, and requests.
In this session, the Chief Innovation Officer will share SDCOE’s approach to implementing needs and a roadmap for an organization that serves over 500,000 students, 42 school districts, 783 schools, 125 charters, and 22,000 teachers. Attendees will learn about their vision for the future (including data interoperability, universal and portable transcripts, and more); the pain points of replacing disparate systems; and how the SDCOE is creating new processes to build a positive workplace and culture to better the outcome of their students, families, community members, and employees. This session will also highlight key focus areas that education leaders should discuss together when embarking on a project/initiative or at the start of a long-term partnership.
